The Federal Government on Monday said it handed over COVID-19 palliatives from the nation’s reserve and other sources to the state governments for onward distribution to the citizens.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, said this in Abuja at the briefing of the taskforce.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the CCTV footage at the Lekki Toll Gate would be made available to the State Judicial Panel of Inquiry to review as part of the investigation into the Lekki Toll Gate shootings. Speaking during an interview session on Becky Anderson’s Connect the World, a CNN programme, on Monday, Sanwo-Olu said that the Federal and Lagos State Governments would ensure that all those found culpable in last Tuesday’s shooting at the Lekki Toll Plaza are held accountable for their actions.

The Senate Committee on Public Accounts has alleged uncovered N848 million and $1.5 million financial fraud committed by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tel-Aviv, Israel. The committee, chaired by Matthew Urhoghide, reportedly uncovered the alleged scam.The report of the Auditor General of the Federation (AuGF), Anthony Ayine, was said to have indicted the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the discovery.

SEVEN stowaways have been arrested by British Naval Special Forces, when they stormed an oil tanker in the English Channel on suspicion of hijacking. Hampshire Police said the men, believed to be from Nigeria, were being held at several police stations on suspicion of “seizing or exercising control of a ship by use of threats or force”. They have not been charged.

ENDSARS PROTESTS: LAGOS PANEL OF INQUIRY RECEIVES 15 PETITIONS – THISDAY PG.10

The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry for Restitution for victims of #EndSARS-related abuses and the October 20 Lekki Tollgate shootings has received 15 petitions from victims of abuses barely a week after it was constituted. This is coming as the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, yesterday warned law-abiding citizens especially parents, community leaders and traders to reject all items suspected to have been looted or stolen by criminals who wreaked havoc during the #ENDSARS protests.
